Target Users
Small Businesses
Small businesses unable to recycle, such as those with specialty materials, lack of time, or irregular schedules.
Artists
Up and rising artists who could benefit from free materials and opportunities to showcase their work.
Local Community
The local Franklinton community, including families, businesses, artists, and residents interested in sustainable practices and community-based initiatives.
Pain Points in Traditional Recycling Systems
01.
Many small businesses have no time or the staff needed to sort recycling from trash.
02.
Curbside pickup excludes specialty items that can technically be recycled or repurposed.
03.
Pickup schedules are not customizable and reliable for businesses with irregular needs.

Project Brief and Deliverables
How do we create a circular system for small businesses?
Local businesses often lack the time, resources, and infrastructure to manage their waste sustainably.
Local Loops reimagines recycling as a collaborative, community-driven system that connects businesses with
local artists, residents, and recycling facilities. By making circularity easier and more accessible, the system
turns business waste into a shared resource while supporting creativity and a more sustainable way of living.

In The Loop
After contacting Local Loops, businesses will receive an In The Loop onboarding booklet.
Flip through the booklet by clicking on the pages.
Inside, businesses can figure out what bin size they need and an appropriate pick-up schedule. They can also view our system map, brand values, testimonials, and case study.
Afterwards, there will be a welcome visit to officially join the service. Employees will bring branded merchandise, decorations, and create an account for businesses to stay updated on where their donations go.
Businesses can keep In The Loop as a scrapbook to document and show customers the impact their donations had on the community.
